I know it’s still summer and the last thing we are thinking about is Christmas, but these things take some planning! After the huge success of last years workshops I will be running several Christmas workshops again this year. Come and learn how to make a handmade, traditional moss backed door wreath that you will be SO proud of. The workshops will be held at the beautiful Parochial Hall on the Old High Street, Kenilworth and like last year, my mum will be serving lovely homemade cakes and tea and coffee.

I had so many lovely letters last year from proud wreath makers and I already have a que of people waiting for this years events, so please contact me if you would like to reserve a place and bring your friends and family along too!More dates may be published, depending on demand and further details to follow nearer the time. Please feel free to contact me if you’d like some more information. I couldn’t help but admire this show garden that earnt itself a gold at Chelsea. It had everything that I love about flowers in it……a charming wild and free style that captures the informality of the English garden. From delphiniums to foxgloves, herbs to daisies, it was a true delight.

I hope you like looking at these pictures as much as I do and maybe they will give you some inspiration for your own floral designs!

  3. The Royal Wedding Flowers

After months of speculation about the dress, the hair, the flowers we all got to see the beauty of everything coming together on 29th April. I was so excited to see what Kate was going to choose for her wedding bouquet and she didn’t disappoint. A woman after my own heart, a simple bouquet of lily of the valley, sweet william and hyacinth.

Lily of the valley is my absolute favourite flower, along with David Austin roses. Meaning ‘return of happiness’ it is so appropriate for a wedding bouquet, and the scent is wonderful. The small, deliacte bells with their heavinly fragrance just gently lean over to create a stunning shape, it’s a great choice for a bridal bouquet. Due to it’s expensive price tag and limited availability, it’s sometimes a rare choice for brides. However, if you are getting married late March- early May, a few stems mixed with other flowers may be a good choice. I got married on 8th April 2011 and had a bouquet of David Austin roses, freesia and lily of the valley……simple divine!
